First AGO High Council under leadership of Farid Hamidi the Attorney General of Afghanistan was conducted.
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) high council meeting was conducted in presence of AGO Deputies and Central Directors under the leadership of Mohammad Farid Hamidi on Sunday April 10, 2016. The AGO officials were delighted and thanked the Parliament for casting their votes of confidence to Mr. Hamidi as Attorney General of Afghanistan. In the meantime, Mr. Hamidi thanked Mr. Noor Habib Jalal the Deputy of AGO in Investigative Affairs for leading the office as the Acting Attorney General.
In addition to the other important agendas, the participants discussed on preparation of technical equipment’s to speed up the proceedings of AGO. The high council assigned the Administrative Directorate staff to equip Provincial Appellate Prosecution Offices with Fax machines. These machines will be used to send and receive information.
Additionally, raising the wages of AGO employees was discussed in this meeting. The plan will be shared with the President soon for approval.
Mohammad Farid Hamidi said that ensuring the security at AGO is the duty of the government. He believes that the administration is obliged to ensure the immunity of its employees. Thus, the high council of AGO had invited the experts, engineers of different Ministries and professors of Kabul University to evaluate the AGO building. The high council directed the Administrative Directorate to assign a delegation to assess and evaluate the buildings of AGO and provide a report in the next council.
