Attorney General’s Office High Council Meeting conducted under the Supervision of Saranpoh Noor Habib Jalal, Deputy of AGO in Investigation Affairs
The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) High Council met on Sunday, December 4, 2016, with the presence of deputies and all the members of the AGO High Council.
The session began with discussion on the request of General Directorate of Prosecution of Crimes against Internal and External Security. The request concerned the issued ratification # 650 of Supreme Court’s High Council, related to performance method of General Directorate of Prosecution of Crimes against Internal and External Security on currency forgery and law in Afghanistan Bank.
High Council resolved that Prosecution of Crimes against Internal and External Security (PIES) investigates and files abduction and currency forgery cases with coordination of Supreme Court. The PIES can handle the cases legally and appropriately because of having better facilities.
The AGO High Council reviewed the application of Provision Enforcement Prosecution Office and Badghis Appellate Prosecution Directorate’s Detention Center, in relation to the implementation of President’s amnesty and discount decree for convicts.
The Prosecution Directorate of Enforcement discussed prisoners and children under detention and some of the prisoners’ cases finalized before the issuance of President’s decree. However, due to some reasons, their files have not been submitted to the implementation Commission of Decree and eligible people will not benefit from the decree.
The High Council decided that the Directorate of Provision Enforcement should apply the articles of President’s decree up to the last eligible person.
