New Directors for Kabul’s East and West Zone Appellate Prosecution Offices are Officially Introduced

On August 26, the Deputy Attorney General (DAG) for Finance and Administrative affairs, Mr. Wahiduddin Arghon, officially introduced Ms. Parwin Rahimi as Kabul West Zone Appellate Prosecution Office Directress and Mr. Jamil-ur-Rahman as Kabul East Zone Appellate Prosecution Office Director. These directors were appointed on the basis of Presidential Decree No. 1813 and AGO propose.

The introductory ceremony was held at the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) in the presence of  Dr. Ghulam Haider Allama, the DAG for Trail Affairs, Sayed Farid Hssanyar, Administration and Finance Director, Shah Muhammad Khpalwak, Information and Public Relations Director,  Jamshid Rasouli, Professional Training Institute Director and  AGO Spokesperson.

In the program, Mr. Arghon said that “the AGO, as an integral part of the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, plays significant role in ensuring justice.”

DAG Arghon believes that the appointed directors will carry on important tasks and their duties will play an undeniable role in improving the rule of law, ensuring justice and good governance.

Mr Arghon talked about the serious steps taken by AGO to fight corruption. He said that the campaign against corruption has been seriously and decisively begun at AGO. 

Mr. Arghon said that appointing Mrs. Rahimi, shows that the AGO has special respect for female and their role as AGO has increased the female participation up to 14%.

He believes that AGO must be accountable and treat the visitors with good deeds across the country. He insisted, “We want these reforms to be continuous, extensive, mature and more serious than before”.

He added, “In order to ensure better livelihood and prevent corruption, salaries of prosecutors have been doubled.”

The Dr. Ghulam Haider Allama praised the past performance of these two new directors and wished them more success. He stated, “The selection and reclassification of these two employees took place in order to improve quality services at AGO.”

Ms. Parwin Rahimi expressed her keenness about her new position as Kabul West Zone Appellate Prosecution Office Director and added, “As a servant of my homeland, even if I am transferred to the remote parts of the country, I will serve the people of this land with all my heart and soul.”

Mr Jamil-ur-Rahman, who was also appointed as Director of Kabul East Zone Appellate Prosecution expressed his pleasure and asked colleagues to consider honesty and justice while carrying out their duties.
