AGO High Council Meeting held by Saranpoh Mohammad Farid Hamidi, Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
On February 12, 2017, High Council of the Attorney General’s Office conducted a meeting with participation of AGO deputies and other council members.
At the beginning of the meeting, the High Council expressed their condolence on martyrdom and injuries caused to the Supreme Court staff by the last suicide attack wishing heaven for the martyred and soon recovery for the injured.
The Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan remarked this incident as an anti-human attack and condemned the action.
In addition, the Council discussed security issues and measurements by AGO staff as a response to increasing security threats and terrorist attacks by insurgents.
The Council discussed installment of barriers, security cameras, strengthened search application, utilization of modern security tools, as well as the necessary coordination among detective and security organizations of prosecution offices in both the capital and provinces. High Council members also discussed how to check and control clients while entering prosecution offices to prevent potential terrorist attacks by the enemies and made security decisions accordingly
The Council assigned a five member committee to attain further security measures in order to ensure better security for the AGO staff. The Deputy Attorney General in Military Affairs and the Deputy Attorney General in Financial and Administrative Affairs will chair the new security committee.
