Attorney General’s Office (AGO) Conducts Awareness Program on Fight Against Women Harassment

AGO Gender Directorate conducted Fight Violence Against Women Awareness Program, at AGO Professional Training Institute Hall on April 25, 2018.

Gender Director, Ms. Lida Haidari, General Director of Elimination of Violence Against Women (EVAW) prosecution office, Ms. Shazia Yousufi, some other AGO employees and members of Anti-violence Against Women Foundation participated in the program.

At the beginning of the program, Ms. Lida Haidari said that “AGO is committed to increase number of women employees and attracted around 90 stagers/interns to learn professional skills”.

Lida Haidari added that currently female prosecutors are employed to work on Elimination of Violence Against Women and Women Harassment in 27 provinces of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Ms. shazia Yousufi said, “Last year AGO registered and handled 40 Violence Against Women cases, after evaluations.

Ms. Yousufi added that, AGO has signed an agreement with the Afghanistan Medica Organization to treat the women who faced mental diseases due to violence.

Also in this program, the director of Anti-violence Against Women Foundation requested all the government organizations to act in accordance with the enforced laws on violence against women and children.

It’s worth mentioning that, Anti-violence Against Women Foundation was established on March 8, 2018, and fights violence against women.
