Attorney General: With Establishment of Reception and Information Center, direct, live and independent communication shall be ensured among the office and people
On May 30, 2018, the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) Reception and Information Center with a Masjid were inaugurated with presence of Mr. Faiz Mohammad Osmani, Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs, Saranpoh Mohammad Farid Hamidi, Attorney General (AG) of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr. Qiyamuddin Kashaf, Head of National Ulema Council, Mr. Obaidullah Barikzai, member of complaints hearing commission of the parliament, Ataullah Yari, member of the Oversight Commission on Access to Information, deputy attorney generals, members of civil society, and journalists.
The Reception and Information Center is established to expedite easy service delivery to visitors of AGO and transparency in performance. This center is tasked to ensure communications of visitors and AGO officials through an effective communicative and managerial system. Dealing with dignity with AGO visitors, is of the basic and key priorities of this center.
Pointing out to principle of service delivery to people, AG Mohammad Farid Hamidi said, “Our basic duty is to ensure justice and deliver useful services that the first step in this regard is dealing with dignity with AGO visitors and provide them the required information and facilities”.
Stating on construction of a Masjid in the Reception and Information Center, Mr. Hamidi added, “There is a great objective, in construction of the Reception and Information Center and Masjid in a single place. The first floor of the building to serve creatures of Almighty Allah and the second floor is to worships creator of these creatures and all the universe. Masjid is the place to raise virtuous. Masjid is not the only place to worship Allah, but also makes human become motive, energetic and make promise with Allah to serve creatures of Allah. My colleagues are shared in rewards of this Masjid. Every time, I visited my colleagues in their offices, one of their requests was to construct a Masjid. Therefore, I thank them.”
This Masjid has been constructed for AGO employees and visitors. It has the accommodation for 350 payers at a time. Its construction costs 3,200,000 AFN paid through the development budget of AGO.
Mr. Hamidi in a part of his speech added that this center can determine the number of visitors at AGO, and makes budgeting and provision of equipment and Tashkeel easier in order provide better services to people. Once again, he said that the duties of this center is to provide people, civil society and respective entities’ access to information and will act with perfect transparency in this regard.
Appreciating establishment of the Reception and Information Center, Mr. Omani, Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs said that he is a witness of modesty and good behavior AG Mr. Hamidi with people and he always attempted to ensure people’s satisfaction.
The AGO Reception and Information Center is contracted in standardized manner with total cost of 10,600,000 Afn using AGO development budget. It is expected that the center plays an effective role in delivering better service and facilitating citizens’ access to information in the AGO framework.
