Commemoration of Martyrs’ Week in Attorney General’s Office

Attorney General’s Office (AGO) of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan commemorated Martyrs’ Week (Haftai Shaheed) on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the AGO Vocational Training Institute Hall.  Saranpooh Mohammad Farid Hamidi, Attorney General of Afghanistan, and AGO deputies, directors, and employees participated in the ceremony to honor the martyrs.  The participants recited Holy Quran and prayed to venerate martyrs of Afghanistan and AGO.

Saranpooh Mohammad Farid Hamidi insisted in remembering and keeping the path of martyrs of Afghanistan, especially the martyrs of AGO. Referring to opposition groups, he added, “Attacking AGO employees will not bring any gap in operation of this entity. We are committed to serve the people of Afghanistan, implement justice, and enforce the law.”

Mr. Hamidi called AGO an independent office and said in regard to the trial of enemies of Afghan people, "If enemies of Afghan government are brought before judicial and legislative systems; especially AGO, they will be tried in accordance with the law and human rights standards. We will give them the right to defend themselves, and tried and punished justly.

AGO has always strived to implement justice and rule of law in Afghanistan.   Meanwhile, the terrorist groups have carried out deadly attacks on AGO employees and offices in the capital and provinces. Nearly 80 AGO employees have lost their lives in these terrorist attacks.
