High Council Meeting of the AGO was Conducted under Chairmanship of Noor Habib Jalal, Acting Head and Deputy of Investigation Affairs

In the High Council meeting of July 10, 2016 in which deputies and central directors attended, the discussion included important issues and exchanging viewpoints. The meeting began with High Council members approving the request from Public Relations and Information Department regarding the wages of the board of authors (Tahrir) and authors of the AGO magazine.  

 

Subsequently, according to the agenda of the AGO’s High Council, the problem of electronic passports and travel-ban of some people was discussed. Based on the text of the request from Deputy of AGO in Military Affairs, sometimes due to having similar names and lack of mentioning father’s name in the passports, resulting in detaining other people at the airport instead of the people who are travel-banned. 

 

The High Council decided that since the Passport Department and Border Police belong to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, they should solve a required naming convention problem in electronic passports from its core and comprehensively.

 

The next issue of the AGO agenda was discussed on the fate of people who have spent the period of their imprisonment on kidnapping charges but since they have not paid their cash fine to the victims of the case, they are still in prison. The High Council decided that the relevant institutions shall act according to the decree of the President’s Office. Based on this decree, those accused of kidnapping will stay in prison even after spending their imprisonment until they pay their fine to the victims of the cases.

 

 

The High Council meeting concluded with reading aloud a report about the audit office based on some violations of prosecutors of Kabul Southern and Northern Zones. Members of the High Council emphasized professional work and without deficiency, and requested the audit office to guide prosecutors during their performance assessment and in case of intentional violations, they should share the result of their assessment with the High Council.
