“Recruiting talent in AGO will lead to improving Justice Services in the country.”
The Attorney General of Afghanistan, Mohammad Farid Hamidi, discussed recruiting talent in a Training Programs Coordination Session on Monday January 3, 2017 in the AGO Professional Training Institute Hall. Participants included provincial and central directors and deputies of AGO, Abdullah Ahmadzai, Director of Asia Foundation, and Najibullah Najib, representing USAID. The aim of the session is better coordination for training and practical programs.
Saranpoh Mohammad Farid Hamidi said, “Capacity building is started for the next generation of AGO. Attracting and training of AGO staff for offering better justice services to the Afghan people will be launched.”
The Attorney General linked peace in Afghanistan with the duties of AGO. According to him, while assuring people of justice by AGO staff and defense of their rights, they will believe in peace. He added that, “The only Institution who plays vital role in bringing peace is AGO.”
The Attorney General emphasized establishing coordination between AGO and other governmental Institutions. According to him, establishing more coordination between various sessions of AGO in the center and provinces will lead to offering better services. Mr. Hamidi said, “We strictly defend independence of the performance of our colleagues. Meanwhile, our colleagues should further attempt to establish coordination with all other governmental institutions.”
The Director of Asia Foundation, Abdullah Ahmadzai, said, “Following completion of the training program, we hope to have women prosecutors in the center and provinces. We ask officers in provincial prosecution offices to attempt to recruit women prosecutors. We try to have participants from all provinces of Afghanistan in our program.”
Previously, AGO and Asia Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Based on the MoU, it is set that (242) women graduates from Huqooq and Sharia Faculties will attend a six month training in the AGO office. After completion of the training and after completing the competitive exam, they will compete for vacant positions in AGO offices in the center and provinces. The registration process for eligible persons of this program is until January 14, 2017 in the center and provinces.
