Submission of (609) Sets of Confiscated Mobile Phones of Smugglers to the Customs Department of Kabul
Kabul, Afghanistan: General Head of Special Prosecution of Counter Narcotics and Intoxicants submitted (609) sets of mobile phones, which were detected during body search of narcotics and intoxicants’ smugglers after issuance of confiscating by all three courts, to the officials of Customs Department of Kabul for sale.
The forfeited mobiles phones include (2) sets of Thuraya Satellite Phones and (607) different types of mobile phones which were found and forfeited by detention and security officials during the year 1393 and 1394 while arresting smugglers of narcotics and intoxicants from different provinces of the country.
During submission of the confiscated mobile phones, Saranyar Mohammad Aref Noori, General Head of Special Prosecution of Counter Narcotics and Intoxicants, referred to article 19 of Counter Narcotics and Intoxicants Law. He said, “The tangible properties attained from the smugglers, after the verdict of all three courts regarding their confiscation, are sold and the income deposited to the revenue account of the government.”
Mr. Noori added, “All three courts issued the confiscation verdict of these mobiles phones when their owners were sentenced to punishment after justice and judicial prosecution.”
Additionally, Said Mirkhan Mosharaf, Advisor for Customs Department of Kabul, who received the confiscated mobile phones, appreciated the activities of justice and judicial center for Counter Narcotics and Intoxicants and said, “Submission of forfeited mobiles phones to the customs department of Kabul shows transparency of this center.”
Mr. Mosharaf added that Kabul Customs Department is always cooperative with the Justice and Judicial Center for Counter Narcotics and Intoxicants in this regards.
Meanwhile, General Directorate of Special Prosecution for Counter Narcotics and Intoxicants submitted (1042) sets of different type mobile phones to Kabul Customs Department for sale, and confiscated from smugglers during last year after final verdict of all three courts.
