Afghanistan Attorney General (AG), Mr. Mohammad Farid Hamidi, stated the issue during the National Conference on Elimination of Violence Against Women in Kabul Serena Hotel.

The three-day conference entitled “National Conference on Elimination of Violence Against Women” started in Kabul Serena Hotel and Presidential Palace ARG) on April 5, 2018.

Afghanistan President, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai said during his speech: “expanding justice in the remote areas of the country is one of Afghanistan Government’s goals”.

Mr. Ghani described the efforts of the Attorney General (AG) to expand and secure justice as a good and constructive step.

He added that “this move must be seriously followed by the authorities of all other relevant institutions”.

According to the president of the country, with this move of the AG, we will see the presence of prosecutors, particularly women prosecutors (prosecutors of Elimination of Violence Against Women), around the country very soon.

Mr. President pointed out to the new hired prosecutors and said, “you are not only the employees of AGO, but according to Afghanistan Constitution, you are responsible for implementation of Islamic justice”.

Mr. Ghani thanked AG for efforts to secure Justice, Rule of Law and Transparency at work. President of the country pointing out to the new hired prosecutors said: “You are a generation of transition from war to stability, from poverty to prosperity, and from violence to reconciliation and cooperation”. According to President’s believe, Afghan women represent the new Afghanistan, with national and Islamic values.

Mr. Ghani emphasized that our survival is in the rule of law, the law should first be applied to the president, the first lady and the AG, then to the other citizens.

According to the president of the country, a fundamental investment has been made in the independence of the Justice sector, especially the AGO. Mr. Ghani emphasized that independence of this sector will remain for years in the far future and will be the legacy of the National Unity Government (NUG) for future of Afghanistan.

President also emphasized that, people of Afghanistan have lost many opportunities in the last four decades, but Afghanistan women are the motives to compensate these opportunities. Mr. president believes that with women’s movement alongside men, for securing justice and Rule of Law, contradictions will be eliminated and national unity is secured in real.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of the NUG, who spoke at Kabul Serena Kabul Hotel, thanked AGO leadership for the reforms that have been made in various departments of AGO.
