Attorney General's Office High Council meeting has been conducted at AGO Darulaman

The meeting was conducted on May 19, with participation of central directors and deputies of this administration. During the meeting, significant issues were discussed.

A number of national entrepreneurs and ACCI’s members was invited to exchange ideas in order to reform justice and judicial services and share their problems with these institutions.

Mohammad Younos Momand, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) Deputy Director, who was talking on behalf of investors and entrepreneurs, mentioned that there are some serious challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the country. Lack of security, abduction of entrepreneurs and their family members, lack of proper facilities for investigating cases of kidnappers, and challenges in customs were listed as challenges for ACCI. Additionally, Herat’s ACCI Deputy Director mentioned that corruptions has caused some officials of detection and justice organization to investigate entrepreneurs without any proper justification.

The ACCI members and investors appreciated the AGO for listening to their problems and sought their permanent support.

Attorney General, Mohammad Farid Hamidi in addition to extending warm welcome mentioned that the purpose of inviting entrepreneurs and investors to AGOs’ High Council Meeting is proper coordination between investors and AGO. According to Mr. Hamidi, performance of justice and judicial institution was challenging in some affairs for investment and entrepreneurs. He mentioned that security problems and untimely travel-ban is another challenge for entrepreneurs. He pledged to remove all types of corruption from justice sector through AGO.

During his speech, the Attorney General of Afghanistan asked entrepreneurs to pay serious attention to citizens’ health and living rights. According to him, victims of inefficient and expired pharmaceutical and food products are more than victims of war in the country.      

AIBA’s Leadership Members were the next visitor of AGO’s High Council who asked cooperation of this administration regarding problems they face. It has been decided that all problems of attorneys will be mentioned in written format in the next agenda of AGO’s High Council Meeting, and decisions will be made accordingly.  

In addition, in this meeting Attorney General Mohammad Farid Hamidi provided the report of his trip to Logar province. Mr. Hamidi’s trip was organized after martyrdom of Logar province appellate prosecutor and his colleagues during a terrorist attack. Mr. Hamidi has also mentioned his massage to insurgents in this report and stated that AGO is not a political administration, it just efforts to ensure justice which is every human’s desire. Therefore, attacking on prosecutors is a war crime and crime against humanity. Mr. Hamidi declared to Logar province’s citizens that terrorist and brutal attacks cannot prevent the AGO to fight against crimes and ensure justice.
