AGO High Council Meeting Held by Saranpoh Mohammad Farid Hamidi, Attorney General of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
On March 12, 2017, Attorney General’s Office (AGO) conducted a High Council meeting with participation of deputies and all council members and some other provincial officials of Appellate Prosecution Offices. AGO specifically conducted the meeting to handle financial and administrative problems. Saranpoh Mohammad Farid Hamidi mentioned the purpose of the meeting as effective budget execution and said, “The budget which is allocated for our office should help speed up and deliver quality services. Meanwhile, our colleagues should be technically supported in the capital and provinces.”
The Attorney General (AG) said, “A budget committee under chairmanship of the Deputy Attorney General for Financial and Administrative Affairs will be established for the purpose of proper execution of the budget in the AGO in near future.”
Wahiduddin Arghoon, the Deputy Attorney General for Financial and Administrative Affairs said, “AGO possess enough budget. As the AG said, “There are enough budgets under various codes for office equipment and construction of Appellate Prosecution Office buildings in Daykundi, Kapisa, Khost, Laghman, and Nuristan provinces next year (1396).”
Shah Mohammad Khapalwak, Director of Information and Public Relations, talked about awareness programs. He stated, “Recruiting professional employees through open competition could be more effective in this process.” He added that the Information and Public Relations Directorate provides awareness programs in addition to publishing books, gazettes, and newspapers. A specific budget for public awareness could help us in this regard.
The High Council participants discussed expansion of Tashkil, office equipment, construction of buildings, recruitment of professional individuals, and security improvement for AGO staff.
