Gender Responsive Budgeting Training Program Launched for AGO Staff

A training program “Gender Responsive Budgeting” launched by the Directorate of Supporting Women in AGO in collaboration with the Justice Sector Support Program (JSSP) for 30 of the staff of this directorate for three days.

The purpose of launching this program was to develop balanced support for women in AGO, understand the basics of gender and articles of the Law on the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children (EVWC) in order to eliminate gender inequalities and to create a safe environment free of harassment.

Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB), inclusion of various aspects of gender at all stages of budgeting as a reform that starts with policy making and ends with achieving results, were other issues that were discussed in this program.

It is mentionable that Gender Responsive Budgeting is subtended into the work priorities of those agencies who are cooperating in the field of plan and policy, analyzing programs and budgets of the Directorate of Plan and External Liaison.

Officials of the Directorate for Supporting Women in AGO, identify the purpose of the Gender Responsive Budgeting as an extension of gender issues and to ensure that gender-related issues are implemented in all policies, plans, and programs.

At the end of this training program, certificates were distributed by the JSSP to the participants.
