Six of the Employees of the MORR Sentenced to Two Years of Custodial Imprisonment

Six of the employees of the Ministry of Refugees and Reparations (MORR) sentenced to two years of custodial imprisonment by the Anti-Corruption and Justice Center (ACJC) for betraying of 34 million and 725 thousand and 252 AFN.
The trial of Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Arif, Abdul Wasi son of Nizamuddin, Zuhruddin son of Gul Aqa, Mohammad Sadiq son of Abdul Salam, Ayamuddin son of Mehrabuddin and Mohammad Nadir son of Mohammad Saleem the employees of MORR held on 21st of September 2019 at ACJC.
This case was transformed to the AGO when financial and admin auditing of the MORR for 2014 was done and found a series of violations on the procurement process and the quality of distribution of goods on the contract with Satar Khalij Business Company for seven food and non-food items.
The assigned prosecutor after completing all his necessary investigation and filing the lawsuit and based on the documents and evidence of the neglect and misuse of the defendants, demand the hearing jury to apply Article 17 of the Penalty Code along with the Articles 270 and 48 of Criminal Code and considering Article 94 of the Procurement Law.
The Hearing Jury of the Appellate Court in consideration of the lawsuit filed by the assigned Prosecutor and the defense statement sentenced each one of the defendants to two years of custodial imprisonment for betraying of 34,725,252 AFN donated to this ministry in accordance with the first clause of Article 270 and Article 39 of the Penalty Code and in accordance with Article 214 and 58 of the Penalty Code and by observing Article 237 of the Criminal Procedures Law.
It is mentionable that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia donated 2 million of US$ in 2014 for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of seven provinces (Kabul, Helmand, Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar, Jowzjan, and Kunduz) of Afghanistan. The MORR funded a contract for procuring of seven food and non-food items from this assistance.
