Abdul Razaq Wahedi, Ex-Minister of MCIT Acquitted

Abdul Razaq Wahedi, ex-minister for Communication and Information Technology and Hashmatullah son of Sayad Ahmad, Deputy of Ahmadi Printing Press was convicted by The Appellate Court of the Anti-Corruption and Justice Center (ACJC) on 21st July 2019.
The Judicial Delegation of this hearing announced Abdul Razaq Wahedi acquitted on the charge of partnership and misuse of authority, because of error in enforcement of the law and lack of efficiently required reasons, in accordance with Article 25 of “Afghanistan Constitution” and observing Article 5 of Criminal Procedures Code and Article 5 of the Penalty Code.
Mr. Wahedi was sentenced to three years of imprisonment by the Primary Court of the ACJC on 22nd of January 2019 while he was Deputy for the Ministry of Finance on the charge of misuses of authority.
In another case that was also related to his mission on the Ministry of Finance he was charged with misuses of authority and was sentenced by the Primary Court of ACJC on the 7th of April 2019 to pay 12,000 AFN.
The Judicial Delegation also sentenced Hashmatullah on the charge of misuse of authority in accordance with Paragraph two of Article 285 and 145 of the Penalty Code and with observing Article 58 and 17 of the Penalty Code and Article 237 of the Criminal Procedure Code to six months of imprisonment.
It is mentionable, that the Appellate Court did also approved the decision of the Primary Court of the ACJC against Ahmadi Printing Press for paying of 19 million and 197,890 AFN in accordance with Article 6 of the Penalty Code.
