AGO Completed the Appeal Process of Zman Ahmadi’s Case and Sent it to the Supreme Court

The Appeal process for Mohammad Zaman Ahmadi’s case completed by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and submitted to the Supreme Court.

Mr. Ahmadi who was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment by the Primary Court of Third District of Kabul City on the charges of apostasy and insulting to the saints of Islam, the appeal process of his case was completed by an assigned commission of the AGO and sent to the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on 30th September 2019.

Mr. Ahmadi has spent more than six years and 10 months on the prison from a total of 20 years imprisonment and also has benefited a discount of 5 years and six months from the Decrees of Amnesty and Discount of the Presidential Palace.

It is noteworthy, that some days ago the defense lawyer of Ahmadi filed a petition to the AGO for appealing of his client’s case and the AGO completed his appeal process and sent it to the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for further processing.
